Amy Palmer

Meet Amy

Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here.

I'm Amy Palmer, LPC, CST. I hold a M.Ed. in Couples and Family Therapy and am a Certified Sex Therapist through the Sexual Health Alliance.

I enjoy working with couples and individuals in all forms of relationship dynamics - consensual non-monogamy (CNM), monogamy and other non-traditional relationship structures. Whether you're exploring a new dynamic or feeling stuck in your current one, I provide a safe and informed space to process complex emotions—like jealousy, shame, guilt, or fear—and to work through communication breakdowns. These experiences are common, and you’re not alone.

Additionally, I work with desire discrepancy, sexual dissatisfaction or dysfunction, infidelity, trauma, gender identity, conflict resolution, self-esteem, body image issues, sex and porn compulsion, painful intercourse, Kink/BDSM, and anxiety. My practice is sex-positive, trauma-informed, and affirming of all gender identities and sexual orientations.

When things feel overwhelming or isolating, therapy can offer tools, guidance, and clarity. I’m an active, engaged therapist. I don’t just listen—I collaborate, support, and challenge you toward growth.

With over 25 years of lived experience in both traditional and non-traditional relationship dynamics, I’ve seen firsthand the joys and challenges that can come with each unique relationship structure. I’ve also seen how many people in CNM, LGBTQ+, or kink/BDSM communities have had to educate their own therapists—or worse, defend their identities. You deserve a therapist who already understands and affirms your life experience.

I integrate Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches to help clients uncover unhelpful patterns, improve communication, deepen intimacy, and reconnect with their authentic selves.

Before becoming a therapist, I served in the U.S. Air Force as a mental health practitioner and later worked in public relations in Austin, Texas. These diverse experiences enrich my therapeutic work and help me connect with people from all walks of life.

*My practice is talk therapy only. I do not provide hands on intimacy or physical contact of any kind.
